"Let's give them a sporting chance."

Dennis Lillee“As Australians, we love our sports – the physical demanding challenge, the excitement and the spectacle of competitive sport”.

“As participants or observers we appreciate the personal hardship and sacrifice necessary for an individual to succeed in his or her chosen arena”.

“There is no greater honor and reward for Australian competitive sportsmen or women than to be selected to represent their State or nation. It is a privileged emotional experience and thrill. It is recognition of achievement after rigorous self-discipline, training and dedication. And, every Australian deserves the right to go for it.

“I am an extremely proud West Australian. I am grateful for the opportunity I have had, for my successes and as a representative for my State and country. I am also aware of my responsibilities to help others achieve their goals in their chosen sport.

“For those reasons I am delighted and honored to give my name to the Dennis Lillee Disabled Sports Foundation.

“The Foundation is dedicated to providing financial, coaching, training and moral support and facilities to a very special group of West Australian achievers – athletes with disabilities.

“The development of competitive sports as a major part of lifestyle of many West Australians with various disabilities has already met with great success.

“Many men and women are achieving outstanding successes at State, national and international level. Many hold world records.

“And, as their successes become more widely recognized, the flame of enthusiasm is sparked within many more young, aspiring disabled West Australians.

“I believe we must offer these youth greater access to the same high standards of skilled coaching, encouragement and financial support enjoyed by other Australian sporting greats.

“I believe it’s our duty, I believe it’s their right, I believe it’s fundamental to the Australian philosophy of “A Fair Go For Everyone”. And I know they’ll make us proud.

“On their behalf, I earnestly seek your financial support. Please make a valuable contribution now to help secure their future.

“Your Donation is fully tax deductible. The Foundation is directed by a Board of Trustees comprising eminent members of the West Australian community. “Let’s give Them a sporting chance.”
