Hosted by the Willetton Basketball Association, the Inclusion in Sport Symposium was an engaging and impactful event that brought together representatives from sporting clubs, community organisations, and the disability sector. The day featured inspiring keynote presentations from Denise, Teagan, and Zara, who generously shared their expertise, insights, and lived experiences. Their presentations encouraged participants to think differently about inclusion and highlighted practical steps that clubs can take to create more accessible and welcoming environments.
Attendees also gained access to valuable resources designed to support their inclusion journey, including the WADSA Inclusion Guide, information on becoming a Member Club, and details of upcoming Disability Inclusion Workshops. These tools provide clear pathways for clubs to embed inclusive practices within their programs and community.
The Symposium reinforced the importance of working together to remove barriers and ensure that sport in WA is genuinely accessible to everyone, regardless of ability.
