The event featured a range of inspiring keynote speakers who shared powerful insights, lived experiences, and practical strategies around Inclusive Program Design. Throughout the day, presenters highlighted the importance of moving beyond simple participation and instead focusing on creating sporting environments where every individual feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
Key discussions explored how organisations can remove barriers to participation through thoughtful program planning, adaptable coaching practices, accessible environments, and inclusive policies and procedures. Attendees were encouraged to think about inclusion from a whole-of-program perspective — considering not only activities on the field, but also staff training, communication, culture, and community engagement.
The symposium also provided valuable opportunities for collaboration and shared learning, with breakout discussions allowing participants to exchange ideas and reflect on how inclusive practices can be implemented across a variety of sporting settings.
