It was a very active Winter Sports Xperience 2026. With some great new sporting experiences accumulated by all.

Winter sports was very active and we packed a lot in, with very high participation from everyone. We kicked off Saturday morning with two fantastic sports sessions, where everyone learned all about floorball and put their skills into practice with a competitive game enjoyed by participants and support workers alike. After a quick drink, we were onto our Rugby WA session, where our two facilitators AJ and Pete got everyone involved in a very fun and active introduction to rugby, despite some questionable push-up penalties handed down to WADSA staff.
A highlight for most was watching the Perth Thunder take on the Newcastle North Stars in the Australian Ice Hockey League. We had great seats to watch and hear all the action on the ice, which was amazing since it was the first time at an ice hockey match for most of us, meaning we got to experience all the excitement up close.
Sunday was a slightly slower pace with a visit to the Elevate golf lounge to try out their golf simulators, electronic darts, and pool, which was followed in the afternoon by a very competitive and highly engaged game of ten-pin bowling.
In our downtime, we all got stuck in and prepared some great meals on site, and we also enjoyed some great food and drinks at the Limestone Coast Brewery and the Oxford Hotel.
